CHIQUITA CANYON LITIGATION FIRST AMENDED COMPLAINT

On December 4, 2023, We at SOM filed our first amended Class Action Complaint with the United States District Court Central District of California. This comes after we filed our initial complaint back in October 2023.

We filed this complaint as The Chiquita Canyon Landfill threatens the health, safety, and well-being of the Val Verde community and surrounding areas.  After months, if not years, of being impacted by the Landfill, residents have filed a lawsuit to call for the close of the Landfill, mitigation of impacts on the community, and damages to be paid to residents impacted. 

Filing this complaint is just the first step. Join us in this important fight for environmental justice and a safe community for all.
